A commencement ceremony was held in Gaotai Village, Haicheng Town, Haiyuan County, Zhongwei City on 16 December 2020 for a batch of projects including Ningxia S50 Haiyuan to Pingchuan (Ningxia-Gansu boundary) Highway PPP Project, ZhongweiXiaheyan Yellow River Highway Bridge Project, National Highway 338 Zhongning to Zhongwei Section, Provincial Highway 308 Gunquan to Baima Section and Provincial Highway 303 Baijigou to Rujigou Section.
The Ningxia S50 Haiyuan to Pingchuan (Ningxia-Gansu boundary) Highway PPP Project, NXCC as the project contractor, is the first expressway project which takes the form of Public-Private Partnership. This project is an extension to west of the Zhaike--Haiyuan expressway project with two-wayfour traffic lanes. The project connects the Expressway from Heicheng to Haiyuan, it is another east-west expressway between Dingbian--Wuwei Expressway and Qingdao-Lanzhou Expressways. It provides another way out of Ningxia Hui Automonous Region in its south-central region, at the same time helps alleviate the shortage of outward passageway. The project is of great significance to improve the expressway network in the four provinces of Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia and promote the economic and social development of the Liupanshan area.
Ren Quansheng, deputy general manager of Ningxia Communications Construction Co., Ltd., stated in an interview at the commencement ceremony: “As the general contractor of the project, while adhering to the concept of high-quality construction and comprehensive planning of the project, the company will also strengthen its resources allocation and guarantee the progress of the project by providing sufficient manpower, materials, equipment and financial resource. The company will carry forward its company spirit of “To be Conscientious, To be Innovative, To be Sincere, To Achieve Win-Win”, take a good start and lay a solid foundation for the transportation industry at the beginning of the “14th Five-Year Plan” by delivering a high-quality project using methods of standardized construction and delicacy management.
These national and provincial highway projects will further improve the capacity of Ningxia’s main national and provincial roads, drive the economic and social development of the along the roads, and provide a more solid and powerful traffic guarantee for promoting the ecological protection of the Yellow River Basin and the construction of high-quality development pilot areas.
